So I found a few more “old” customs I did…after this, back to work on new stuff!
Here we have one of my all-time favorites….BLUE DEMON!
One of the squared-circle’s best! Like Santo, he was the man back in the day. Made movies, wrestled everywhere and held the tag champions (with the Black Shadow) and was a world champion in his own right.
He often played side-kick to El Santo, but he was no Robin, Blue Demon was a straight up Bad Ass! He was usually a Technico, but started out as a Rudo and was (in my opinion) one of the original good/bad guys!
He wrestled for years, and now his “son” Blue Demon Jr. carries on the tradition (though he is slowing down a bit now as well). I had the pleasure of seeing Blue Demon Jr when Coke released their Blue Demon energy drink…he came to Atlanta and I met him…what a blast!
Anyway, I was never totally pleased with the result (you need to give the best his due – I am sure I will make him in the Mattel version so I can sculpt the mask details). But here he is anyway.
Recipe:
Body – Build n Brawl Chavo.
Mask – Sculpey (took this opportunity to show that ALL my lucha-guys had laces painted on the backs of their masks (just like the REAL wrestlers)
Cape – material with Velcro enclosure (every great Luchador from the 60-70's had to have a cape!)
