Here's my big entry for this comp. Been waiting a long time for a female comp to come my way;) She took me the full 2 months to make. I could only sculpt alittle a day to prevent fingerprints on my sculpt. It was definetly worth taking my time on. I am defintly happy how she came out. I used an electra and sculpted her suit and took acesories from a Dawn figure to add. I sculpted her hair and painted all the detail on her. I painted her fae ompletly before I added the hair so if you look on the side of her face, you can see both eyes painted. I added the teardrops to her face. I worked all my magic into her. Let me know what you all think. I repainted the base and weapons to give it a more detail realistic look.
Congratulations! You clearly spent a lot of time and effort on this custom of Dawn! I love this character! JML is a great artist of the female form, but even better than that (in my opinion) is his talent for telling a compelling story. I particularly like his work on Angry Christ Comics (the original Cry for Dawn stuff) and his first full-length feature with Dawn - "Lucifer's Halo". It is a pity that JML's work is so slow and infrequent, but I guess we take what we can get. Anyways, I love your Dawn custom, I've often thought about carving up Todd McFarlane's Dawn figure and doing something with it, I particularly like her best in her red armour, maybe I'll try that some day.
Thank you everyone for the comments and the votes! I was really trying to win and when I saw all the great customs, I started to get nervous lol. She was so much fun to make but very slow and time consuming, but so worth it lol. I really appreciate all the comments! 18thstreet-Geppetto, thank you on the compliment. To tell you the truth, that breast plate was bothering me as well. I cut it but alittle to much on one side, then I thought about cutting the rest to match but then it wouldn't cover the area it was suppose too, so I added alittle apoxy to the side to try to fix it without putting to much where I needed the articulation. That is the main reason I cut it. It's actually a piece of plastic. Then I wanted to take it completely off and just scullpt and paint like the bottom half, but it is supposed to be a see through plate and it would be to graphic for the comp lol. So I stuck with it, but next time I think I won't use the plate at all. I appreciate you looking at me like a big girl and look at my work with high standards. she's one in a million girl...she's a beauty! love the sculpting and the extra lovin' you put into the detailed paint job! the base and added accessories really help to seal the deal! so sweet and so much to admire about this sexy redhead! incredible job
we all know thats a 5 but I can't give it to you cause first of all we know your a big boy so I'm gonna be rough and nit pick , the breast plate is bothering me. touch it up cause it looks like its some bad fabric, do that and then its a 5 at least for advanced standards
