Hello, I'm back, I've been out since almost a year.
This is my 4th custom figure (Although the 5th one was finished first). It's Rayne From Bloodrayne 2.
The base figure for this one was DC Universe Classic's Earth 2 Super Woman. First I took off the head (bad idea) and the cape to modify the body (the neck was broken a little bit in the process). Then I sanded off the boots and part of the stomach to mask it with epoxy clay (you just can't paint with skin tone acrylic over solid black pvc). Then I painted the black base for the clothes and modeled the stomach and the pointy end of the gloves sleeves. I applied some coats of skin-tone paint over the original skin to make it vampiric pale. Then I started with the details (lots of nano-modeling there), all the red lines of the clothes edges were modeled with epoxy clay and then I made the stitches (that part was painful) with epoxy clay strips that later I carved with a little screwdriver to make the X forms. Next step was the corset's straps, that took away the articulation of that area. The last detail was the pendant, and nano-drawing the Brimstone Society symbol on it (that was painful too). Then I started the paint job with the acrylics and when the body was ready it was the time to make the head.
For the head I first took off the hair and modeled a new one in 3 steps (base height, back and sides, and front), then I drew new and thinner eyebrows. I wanted to give Rayne a pair of fangs but it didn't look good so I discarded the idea. Then I put a screw on the base and inserted it into the neck. Part of the neck broke earlier so I had to heat the plastic a little bit to fit the screw in.
Once everything was in place I made the blades. The axis was made with cardboad covered with epoxy clay and a piece of wire. The blades were made with CD plastic covered with epoxy clay and sanded off with a dremel to make them "sharp". The handles were made with wire too. I checked that the blades articulation worked and then painted them.
Finally I added 2 thin wire rings on the hair, made the black and red ribbons and glazed everything to prevent scratch damage.
The figure kept most part of her original articulation (lost the mid torso's due to the placing of the corset's straps and the head's due to the black and red ribbons fragility) and it can be posed in some of the game's moves.
It's the first time that I create an articulated mechanism with epoxy clay and I liked the result.
It took me about 3 months to complete this custom due to the level of little details and my lack of enough time.
