When a Sontaran assault ship landed on a desolate moon they discovered a task-force of Daleks rebuilding an old base in the name of the New Dalek Paradigm Empire. A fierce battle commenced between the two races in the ruins. The Sontarans where led by Stenn "The Skullcrusher", a fearsome leader who led his troops into battle (and ultimately to defeat against the superior Daleks). Despite having lost a foot to a land mine, he fought on to either victory or the honour of being slain in battle. The white triangle on his pauldron signifies he has a confirmed Dalek kill, not an easy task for any race in any time. The colour shows it was a Supreme Dalek (I like to think it was the one the Doctor got information about the Silence from in "The Wedding of River Song")...
I had a figure from the Sontaran Stratagem set with a foot that went AWOL, so I decided to incorporate it into a custom figure. I scuffed up his armour (always wondered why the Sontarans, a race obsessed with war, always have pretty clean armour in the show, surely they would love having dirt and damage to show their battles?)and then used Tamiya model paints to create the effect of mud and dirt that had splashed up as the warrior ran through the battlefield and green Sontaran blood on his face as well as the "Dalek kill" badge of honour. His missing limb I singed and then applied a creamy/bone colour paint to it for the stump. His splint was made with a lolly ice stick and some string.
