Dath-Gar was fun to put together and I tried out some new Tamiya paints with him and some new painting techniques. His color scheme (particularly the orange belt) is a little funny mostly because I was going for that 80's toy color combo. I may paint his furry mane purple down the road, or paint the belt bronze. Not sure.

I couldn't get a decent shot of him though. Very frustrating. The lighting is all weird.

Exiled Prince of Tundaria

Dath-Gar is the oldest son of the late King Rok-Gar. A supremely talented warrior, Dath-Gar's exploits in his kingdom are the stuff of legend, from slaying a pride of Night Panthers single-handedly to the defeat of the giant Crawler. However, Dath-Gar's ambition and pride were to be his downfall. When he discovered his father's intent to pass him over for succession in favor of Dath-Gar's younger brother, Sol-Zar, Dath-Gar poisoned the king and took the throne. His rule was short lived, as Sol-Zar challenged him to the Rite of Combat and succeeded. Dath-Gar was exiled from Tundaria and found himself on the surface of Eternia where he eventually met Skeletor. Skeletor, also a royal exile, leveraged their common ground to use Dath-Gar as his trump card in campaigns against Tundaria and the refugee Masters of the Universe. When Skeletor left for the stars, Dath-Gar rallied remnant forces and allied armies, not just content to conquer Tundaria, but all of Eternia!
