Hey everyone,
It's been a little while since I've had a chance to post anything. the past month hasn't been to best for myself and my family. My father had been battling cancer for the past few years, and he took a turn for the worst last month, and passed away on the 22nd of March. Right now I'm just trying to get back in my old routine, which most of you can imagine is pretty tough. So I thought I would share this commissioned piece for fellow fwoosher SpiderBat that I finished before going down to spend the month with my father. I'm just lucky that I have a great boss that let me work remotely from there to be there with him. This custom ended up being a nice figure to share since Captain America was my Dad's favorite comic when he was a little boy.

This is similar to my last Cap, but painted to match his comic look a little more. On this one I painted armor on the torso blue, and added a little extra details to the paint job here and there.

Thank you very much I really appreciate it... I'm hoping to get back to customizing this weekend or next week to help keep myself destracted. I'm thinking that a movie accurate repaint of Cap 2 Winter Soldier would be a good simple figure to start back with.

1st let me say I empathize with you plight, bro. Very sorry your dad is now with the angels. My mom lost that battle too. I pray that you will recover and keep customizing. It helped me get through some very hard times, threw myself into my work and kept my mind off it. However, do talk about it and see wise counsel if you feel the walls caving in. I am more than happy to be an ear.

Now on the fun note, this cap looks WAY better than the retail finish. I really like this new costume from Marvel now but had to pass because they just didn't quite hit the mark with me. Great work!!!

My condolences to you as well, and thank you. I lost my mother to cancer as well several years earlier before loosing my father, and it's a loss that you really never get over. You have to learn to live with the pain and it fades, but it's always there with you. I’m trying to get back into my old routine… but it’s hard as you know. I use to talk with him every day when I got off work, and I have to keep myself from dialing his number in the evenings. I'm pretty close to my brother and sister so I always have someone to talk with, and I have my nephews coming to visit this evening. I'm planning taking my little buddies to see Captain America 2 this weekend, so that should be a good distraction for all of us.

Yeah this is such a beautifully sculpted figure, but they really dropped the ball on the paint or lack there of on it.
