He's not just a master of tasks; he's a master of countless martial arts. With his photographic reflexes Taskmaster is a very dangerous man... Even more impressive is how he moves around so swiftly with all that gear hanging off of him. With that in mind, one of my goals with this figure was to make a Taskmaster that could be armed to the teeth and still hold almost everything on his person without having to resort to plucking weapons out of ninja space. And so I present my Marvel Legends Infinite Series style Taskmaster made from a Boomerang body (shoulders from Infinite Series Baron Zemo to help with paint rub) with hood, quiver (barely pictured, sorry) and bow coming from a DCUC Green Arrow. The arrow was an old Toybiz Hawkeye figure arrow accessory (from the 90s Iron Man Animated Series) and was modified along with an added feather and arrow head sculpted from Aves Fixit Sculpt. The head came from a head cast of a ROML Ghost Rider; also from ROML is the cape which came from a Heroic Age Thor. The clasps were sculpted and the chains between them came from a 90s McFarlane Toys Spawn. The holster and pistol came from a Hasbro Deadpool (I had to make sure Taskmaster got a shout out from Wade) and the billy club, shield and belt all came from the Toybiz Legendary Riders Taskmaster, with the loops being made from the quiver strap that came with Green Arrow's quiver. Speaking of the belt, I never cared for the logo so I resculpted it in green stuff. The cloak folds below the neck, crest with straps, quiver strap and buckle, and the studded band on the left leg were all sculpted with Aves Fixit Sculpt. As for the sword and sheath, they both came from a Funko Game of Thrones Jon Snow. While the sheath was mostly untouched, the pattern down the center of the blade bothered me, and so did the fact that the blade itself was bent. So when I tried to straighten it with a heat gun (my mistake) the blade was melted and beyond saving (BOO-URNS!) So I ended up resculpting the blade out of Aves Fixit Sculpt using bobby pins as an armature. Then I realized that the handle and hilt of the sword were too small... So I ended up resculpting those too. I don't like the design of the hilt on his sword in the comics so I sculpted a simpler hilt that is still faithful to European broadswords but still incorporates a look similar to Taskmaster's 'T' logo. So after resculpting the ENTIRE sword I was very happy to see that it still fit in the sheath afterwards. Believe it or not, I made silicone molds and casted resin copies of the following parts (all of which were used in this actual figure). The hood, skull, clasp chains, the sword, sheath, shield, arrow, quiver, bow and billy club. Speaking of the bow, I poked holes in both ends and threaded it with a thin nylon strand to allow him to draw back his arrow. As for the billy club, I shortened the length of it to make it look more like an Escrima stick and less like a walking stick. I then drilled a tiny hole into the end so that a black copper wire could be attached; now he can do the mighty swing on his zip line like a Combofiend! (also had to give a shout out to the stars of EVO). And finally he was completely repainted from head to toe. It was hard to photograph all the white paint so I really hope the pics came out okay. Thank you very much for taking a look and listening to me reminisce! ![]() |
