Okay, here comes yet another figure in my Silver and Bronze Age Superboy collection, Police Chief Douglas Parker!

Police Chief Douglas Parker was the police chief of Smallville and a good friend and ally of Superboy.

To do this figure, I took a DC Superheroes Clark Kent figure, removed his head, suit jacket, arms, and hands. Next, with the figure now disassembled, I used my Dremel to sand off the necktie and then drilled a small hole into the collar area. With the tie sanded off, and the hole for the new tie now made, I commenced a full repaint of the shirt in Testors Model Masters Flat White, and the shoulders in Testors Acryl Bright Blue. Once the paint had dried, I gave the shirt and shoulders two generous coats of flat clear and glued a the necktie from a Mattel Movie Masters Gotham Police Jokers into the collar hole. Next, I used my Dremel to turn the ball atop the neck into a cylindrical post.

Next, I took the Dum Dum Dugan head from a Marvel Legends Dum Dum Dugan/White Hand Ninja 2-pack and used my Dremel to sand off his derby into a peg. With the peg now created, I took the head from the Gotham Police Joker and cut the Joker head out of the police officer's hat, and then using the Dremel again, I excavated out a hole to accommodate the Dum Dum Dugan head. With the head and hat now Dremeled, I repainted the dark blue area of the hat with the Testors Acryl Bright Blue, and the hair, mustache, and eyebrows in Testors Model Masters Flat White. Once the paint dried, I glued the hat in place atop the head. When the glue dried, I gave the head two full coats of flat clear. Next, I made up a small glob of Milliput and inserted it into the cavity inside the head. With the Milliput still soft, I inserted the cylindrical neck post into it to create a proper peg hole in the head. Once the Milliput had dried, I used a little Testors Modeling cement to glue the head in place atop the neck.

With the head now glued in place, I started work on the legs. For the legs, I decided to try something a bit different. I wanted to give Police Chief Parker a different set of feet than the standard Clark Kent legs. To do this, I used my razor knife to cut the feet off, and then I used my Dremel to turn the Clark Kent ankle into a cylindrical post. With the cylindrical post now made, I cut the lower legs off the Gotham Police Joker. With the Joker lower legs now detached, I drilled a small hole into the top of the Joker legs to accommodate the cylindrical posts I created out of the Clark Kent ankles, and then I glued the Joker legs in place. Once the glue had dried, I mixed up a small batch of Milliput and applied it over the seams on the legs, and then sanded them smooth when the putty had dried. With the legs, now ready, I gave them a coat of Testors Acryl Bright Blue for the pants. Once the paint had dried, I applied two generous coats of flat clear.

While the flat clear on the pants dried, I started work on the jacket. I took the police jacket from the Gotham Police Joker and gave it a full repaint in Testors Acryl Bright Blue. When the blue paint dried, I put the police jacket on the Clark Kent body, and glued it closed. Once the glue had dried, I gave the coat two generous coat of flat clear. Next, I gave the arms a full repaint of the coat sleeves in the Testors Acryl Bright Blue for the coat sleeves and Testors Model Masters Flat White for the shirt cuffs. Once the paint on the arms had dried, I reattached the hands and then reattached the arms to the body.

With all portions of the uniform now fully painted and ready, I next commenced a repaint of all of the buttons on the uniform in Testors Model Masters Argent Silver, followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear. Next, I created a police badge (the badge was made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size...I next glued the badge image to an index card, and then colored it in with a Silver Sharpie marker once dry and then applied a piece of glossy tape over it). Lastly, I glued the badge in place over the left breast, followed by three generous coats of flat clear, and TA-DA...Police Chief Douglas Parker, good friend and ally of Superboy!!!

Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.
