My team really started to assemble after visiting a Disney Store in the mall and finding this guy on clearance for about $8. I'm trying to stay on a budget here, and so far, I'm doing great. The Marvel Select line doesn't get a lot of articulation, so Hulk is kind of half statue, half awesome potential for a great figure. His head rotates a bit, his legs barely move (he can really only stand in one or two positions) but his arms move around a lot and can make him look even bigger than he is.

He's a bit larger in scale than the others too, but I always love a gigantic Hulk. There's a reason the rest of the world is terrified of him after all. I scrubbed him down with the steel wool, then washed him in hot water and soap. I added more purple to his paints, whitened up his shirt a bit to add a little more color and shade to him and finally darkened his skin a bit. All in all, I didn't do a ton of work to Hulk, but I like him more now than before.

This issue also includes a guest appearance by The Astonishing Ant-Man and The Wasp. Ant-Man is a hero clix that I removed from the stand with an exacto knife, then just painted the bottom of his foot. Wasp is from the Marvel Universe Classic Avengers. I repainted her to be a little closer to her EMH costume. For a character who so frequently changes her look, she's one of the only heroes from season 1 on the show to never get a new look (the others being Hawkeye and Black Panther). I used a twist tie to prop them up. Wasp and Ant-Man have a small loop around themselves and then a 2nd loop on the other end is stepped on by a bigger figure (like Hulk here) which lets them get into dynamic poses.

Cool! I used this base fig for a custom too. It's a really brute-like appearance for the Hulk. Excellent painting on him. Also, great photos!

Thank you, sir. He does look really cool, I only wish he moved a little bit more. I guess you have to sacrifice a little movement for the size and ferocity.
