Well let's just say Aiden (my son) has a collection of well over 250+ 3.5"-4" Action figures (most are approximately 3.75" or 1:18 scale) ranging from G.I. Joe and Star Wars to Marvel and DC Comics plus not to mention the countless vehicles and spaceships! I constructed a giant mountain base playset/diorama for him! The end result is quite awesome, he can fit under the bottom, it has openings on all levels so he can enter the base then crawl up through and enter all levels from the inside! High powered LED remote controlled lighting for the interior with over 21+ colors and modes to choose from including DIY. Using Model train techniques for the outer shell this mountain has an exterior path leading all the way to the top and a door mid-way up. We also crafted rocks for Hulk and others to throw and/or bust through a wall of rocks like on the older commercials for action figures most of us saw as children :D. The mountain has removable panels, it opens up to a fully interactive action figure base with swappable parts so it can serve the X-Men all the way down to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... eat your heart out! Video: Type in YouTube URL then add the following /watch?v=Usm_Zca8ucc Facebook Album (mainly fabrication photos): Type in FB URL then add the following /TheLastSuperman/media_set?set=a.10207135508965717.1221781092&type=3 Recipe: - 1/8 Composite Wood. - Round wood rods, various sizes for the columns. - Cardboard. - Styrofoam. - Plaster Cloth. - Masking/Painters Tape. - Woodland Scenics Grass (various shades of green). - Other misc woodland scenics and model train type scenery additions. - Gold/Silver textured spray paint. - Flat Grey for walls and main color of mountain. - Magnets... yeah, woo hoo! - LED Lighting system w/ tons of colors, patterns, and diy programmable buttons :P. - Blood, sweat, tears, and good ole' fashioned INGENUITY! Articulation: Ahh about 6 removable panels, this way my son can crawl inside, come up through the circular cutouts and defends from the inside out... a panel or two, or three removed and I'm on the outside attacking in! We also leave the two bottom panels off usually so they can crawl through quickly I.e. Invisible Woman from the fantastic four sneaks in while the door opens or the force-field up top over the entrance is down now she can spy on everyone inside - we usually have his little sister do that, she loves helping in battles and of course ruins (kidding) all the teams taking all females from every team "her girls" lol I mean she's five and wants her own team - never argue with a five year old ;). ![]() |
