While I was wanting to revisit Solar, I didn't take the step until I picked up some of his short lived Dynamite series. Specifically, the last issue. I saw this design for a dark version of Solar and had to know more. As I got through the series and he finally appeared, it turns out it's a redesign for his enemy, Eclipse. And being as I love dark variations of characters, that was all it took for me to immediately add them both to my project list. He was simple enough to fix up, using a Grim Reaper as the base. I just had to swap out the right arm for Cap's. And then top him off with a Cyclops head. However, a few years ago, I bought the Red and Blue Superman figures from the DC Universe line. They're two of the three 6" figures in my collection. Always loved those designs. Anyway, they're essentially straight repaints, but they took the extra time to give them heads with different expressions. Such a small detail they didn't have to do, but they did. That stuck with me, so I wanted to make a small difference between Eclipse and Solar that wasn't just color. And yes, it's quite small. All I did was give Eclipse two fists, but I think it fits quite well.
