When I saw the Arana Spider-Girl in 2013, I knew it would be perfect for 2 figures - Wasp and Kitty Pryde.
So I set about making a definitive Kitty Pryde/Sprite from the 80s. First of all I sanded the hands and ankles, but also the TnA. Yes I rubbed her boobs and ass for ages. Not to be pervy but because she needed to be perceived as an adolescent and couldn't be too "developed". Even the Spider-GIRL figure had enormous tatas....

I sculpted the glove and boot cuffs, and made wrinkles around the ankles using a new technique I made up. To simulate the folds and raised parts of the boot. Then I did the tunic and the belt. Simple stuff. I sprayed her black, and primed in white then painted the yellow parts. Not too bad, but tedious. Added a little definition to the wrinkles on the clothing with a wash.

The head was a cast of Wasp (Toybiz), and I sculpted the mask, then resculpted the nose and jawline to make her look younger. Now the hair was the first time I'd ever sculpted something like that. I'd never done long hair. I think it turned out all right, and think I can now tackle projects like Storm and Rogue from their 90s costumes. Painting the head was fun, and the eyes were perfect for that wide-eyed teenager look she had.

Now I went a little further and gave her an "action feature". She can partially phase through surfaces up to her boots! I don't think I've seen this done before, so it's a nice little extra to enhance this custom even more. I fitted magnets between her legs and boots to be removable. It really was a fun little project to make.
