Hello everyone! Inspired by similar customs, I wanted to manifest my own version of this awesome character from gaming lore. Please allow me to introduce Bionic Commando! With so many iterations of this character, I took a few liberties to interpret his features, but I had a great time and think he turned out pretty "rad"!
His exaggerated, spiky hair, 80's cyberpunk sunglasses, bionic grappling tentacle mount and bandolier pieces were sculpted. His BFG was made from various Sigma 6 weapons fodder - I also experimented with a paint wash for the gun, although it's hard to see in the photos. His grappling tentacle was made from a combination of an old Spawn figure parts and some tubed silicone from the hardware store cured around a piece of bendable wire. I used a small curtain clip for the gripping claw. The figure was painted with Testor's enamel and sealed with clear Dullcote. His grappling arm is removable via the sigma port on his forearm and can actually support the weight of the hanging figure via the clip mechanism! This allows Bionic Commando to function as a Christmas tree decoration! I hope you all enjoy!!!

Thanks, VicVeinz! Yah, the classic NES version is the most nostalgic to me. The newer versions of the game fail to introduce the level of innovation that the NES BC had. I remember, as a kid, renting the game from a local video rental store and beating it in one weekend. I was blown away by the incredible gameplay and depth, not to mention the graphic nature of the cut-scene where Master D's head explodes. It's as if that had slipped past Nintendo of America's censorship at the time! The classic gaming era was the best!!!

I agree..the Nes game was much deeper than the arcade version. It had storytelling also camping out to gathering exprience points by killing more enemies to have a chance in beating the next stages. I also rented it out and beat it ..it was rewarding when it ended.
