In the late 1980s, Hasbro had a line of Nintendo figures posed in action scenes complete with accessories and scenic backgrounds. I was never much a fan of a video games, but when the figures when on clearance for less than $2.00, I picked up a few, including this “Link Boomerangs a Gohma” from The Legend of Zelda. I had to reduce the size of the scene to get it to fit onto one of my standard round figure bases. The back wall had a strip removed from the middle and the stones reworked to match up. I had to cut and reposition the legs of the Gohma to get it going up the base of the ladder. Although that was done because of space, it made the scene more dynamic. Link, the ladder and the log on the bottom were molded as one piece and became the roughest part of the job. I had to do a lot of finicky sanding to erase the parting line from that soft vinyl piece. Link is 2.88” tall; the scene is 4.5” from the floor to the tip of the boomerang. Completed in 1990. ![]() |
