So one of my favorite Batman the Animated series episodes has always been Tyger, Tyger. It was well written & I really like the way the episode played out. Tygrus was just a really cool character to me. I actually wanted a figure of this character when the episode first aired. I couldn't understand why Kenner never made him? I mean what kid wouldn't want a figure of a kick @$$ panther, right? Just ignore the fact that he was in one episode never to be seen again. Ok, I guess I see why they didn't make him.....lol I did in fact make this figure back in the 90's. I still have it to this day ( you can actually see it on the custom JLU wiki page. But it's funny what I thought looked good back then, doesn't compare to how I've honed my talent. So after making Emile Dorian, the doctor that created Tygrus, I just had to take another crack at a better version Tygrus.

I seriously had the idea for this figure long time ago. But I kept pushing it off because it just seemed like he was a tough character to make. I mean he really has a distinct look on the cartoon & I really wanted to capture it. But after making the Doctor that created him & my version of Tygrus from years ago not being up to par, I just had to make him again. One of the many problems with my old version was the height. He's a tall character, much taller than Batman. But the old version, I'm pretty sure I just sculpted over a Batman figure. So he wasn't that much taller. I remember thinking back them that the only tall figure was Bane. But that's a terrible base because Tygrus was not that built. mattel solved that height problem by giving me a good base. JLU Martian Manhunter was perfect. All the details of MM were grinded down, sculpted over & smoothed out. Then I sculpted Tygrus' hands, feet, & head, along with some other minor details. The head was the tough part. I did this same thing with BabyDoll when I made her. I just couldn't capture the look perfectly & kept working at improving it. I changed the sculpt many times. The final touch was a cut down tail from JLU Blue Devil & it is articulated. I am pretty satisfied with what you see as the final version & think I captured the essence of the character. Let me know what you think?
