Hey everyone,

The game Altered Beast was a big hit in the arcades. It was developed by the same Sega team that made the classic game Golden Axe the following year later.

When the Sega Genesis launched in the United States in the late 80's, Altered Beast was the game that came packaged with the system. The rivalary between Sega and Nintendo was taken to the next level. After the failure of the Sega Master System, the launch of the Sega Genesis meant they were ready for some serious competition this time around.

Altered Beast tell the story of a Roman centurion who had died in battle and is resurrected from the dead by Zeus. The centurion is ordered by Zeus to save his daughter Athena from a Demon God called Neff in the Underworld. The centurion must fight many mythical creatures during his journey. In order for him to survive this task he must gather spirit balls to make him stronger. After absorbing three spirit balls, the centurion transforms into one of five Beasts...Werewolf, Dragon, Bear, Tiger and finally a Golden Werewolf. Changing into these beast balances his fight against his evil enemies.

Altered Beast will always be remembered for it's huge graphic sprites, monsters and the references to Greek Mythology and the movie Clash of the Titans. It was a unique game during its time since the transformation caught many gamers attention. Truly a Genesis classic!!

Congrats Vic! The centurion looks as great as the werewolf. I think he even looks better. I guess you really know how to make those buff physiques perfectly. Even the game's evil villain that you made looks great. "Welcome to your doom!"
