Body: DCUC All Stars Superman, Head: DCSH Superman, Cape: DCUC Series 5 Eradicator I loved the updated body from DCUC for the classic Superman considering he could ACTUALLY close his legs, however the head looks off-character to me, and I much preferred the older one. So I performed a head swap, fun fact- while switching, the neck joint became loose. I tried to tighten it up with superglue, but while "jiggling" it, I had to deal with a sudden problem. When I came back the neck joint was frozen. I tried to move it free, and snapped it. I was forced to try to drill both ends of the neck pin out of the head and neck respectively. the drill bit became lodged in the head ball, and snapped. rather than fret, I saw this as an opportunity. I glued it into the neck hole, and now Supe's neck pin is a broken drill bit. It works surprisingly well. I love a classic, John Byrne style Superman, but he is one character where there are a few off-model embellishments that I actually prefer. These include when the stripes on his boots are yellow (it adds continuity towards the emblem and belt), which has been seen in misprints, as well as on super girl's boots. I also prefer when the angles of his crest/emblem connect to his cape. Such as in the "Eradictor Superman" and in the model for "good" Superman in the Injustice video Game. So I painted the boots, and added Eradicator's cape. I missed the yellow emblem on back, so I hand cut it from the old cape with an exacto blade, sanded down the back to thin it, and glued it to the new cape. I a pleased with the result. Classic, yet in some way enhanced. Please wait... |
