Next up in my Legion project, Ayla Rannz, twin sister to oft time Legion member Lightning Lad. Hailing from Winath, Ayla possesses the same powers as her both her brothers, Garth and Mekt, who became the supervillain Lightning Lord after being shunned for having been born without a twin.

I debated for a while with which costume to give Ayla. All my other Legion member customs were costumes the team wore in the 1970's and 1980's. But honestly, I always thought poor Ayla got the short end of the stick costume wise in that era. Whether she was going by Lightning Lass or Light Lass, it seemed like she had the most generic, least interesting costumes of the team. I don't know, maybe the poor girl got the last pick from the closer every year. So, since I figured I'd probably be making only one figure per character any time soon, I should do the look I like best. So even though this costume comes from the more recent Levitz Legion run, it really is my favorite look for the character.

So once I decided on which look to choose, the obvious choice for a base became an extra DCUC Saturn Girl I picked up in a trade. Add to her on old Medieval Witchblade head I had to completely repaint to cover those goofy almond shaped eyes, and she was a fairly easy put together. But painting wraparound lightning bolts on boots isn't as fun as it sounds, trust me.
