I was a huge fan of Spartacus. Andy Whitfield did such a great job, and Liam McIntyre stepped into some big shoes and managed to wear them well too. I based this figure off the look Spartacus had fighting along side Crixus against Theocales. I didn't have time to make those two, but luckily I had a World War Hulk and Ares nearby for willing sacrifices.
Although he may not be known for the screaming, there was a lot of it on the show. Only every single time they swung a blade, or dodged a blade, or walked in to the coliseum, or stubbed their toes, or saw a quarter on the ground....yeah....Lotta screaming.
The base was primarily a boss fight blank. All the details were sculpted outside of the cloth sash. I generally don't work with fabric, but I didn't want to hinder articulation, so it seemed a good way to go. The helmet was made from a few fodder head pieces with sculpt applied also. The shield was sculpted onto a riot gear Glen shield from Walking Dead. The two blades I made out of metal, and sculpted the hills. Both heads were from boss fight blanks, but the screaming head was half boss fight, half beast and a good bit of cutting and sculpting to blend.
I'm pretty happy with how he turned out, and I hope fellow Spartacus fans will like it. Also, I had a lot of fun taking the pics for this one. Thanks folks.
