Hey guys! Thanks for checking out my custom Rick! In order to make this figure, I used series 1 (or series 7 exclusive) Sheriff Rick's upper torso. I heated the torso and pryed out his legs. Once the original stiff sheriff legs are out, I took a dremmel tool and hollowed out the lower half of the inside of his shirt. Then, I took series 6 (or series 7 Woodbury Assault) Rick's lower torso/legs off of its' original figure, (using the same heat and pry-away method), and gave it a paint job. I turned his jeans into brown sheriff pants and then added the little yellow strip down the sides of the legs. I used a clay epoxy to mold the slightly indented edge and then painted the strip down the sides of his legs yellow. After the legs dried, I fitted them into the sanded-down sheriff shirt. I used just a bit of super glue on the upper peg of hos pants, and then quickly rotated his waist around inside his shirt to build up a slight layer to secure the legs inside, creating a more perfect fit so they weren't as loose. But be careful! The way the creases and wrinkles are formed in the shirt towards his back right pants' pocket cause a lot of wear on his knife if you swivel his waist too much! Then for his arms/hands, I used a combination of the series 2/series 3 exclusive Rick figure and the then more interchangeable hands from series 6/series 7 Woodbury Assault Rick. I took an exacto knife and sliced off everything from the edge of the sleeve down on the arm of the series 2/series 3 exclusive Rick figure. Then, I heated the sleeves very carefully of the sheriff figure to remove his arm pegs from the sleeves down. I had on peg break inside his sleeve, so I just dremmeled it out before placing the series 2 lower arms in the sheriff sleeves. I super glued the base of the arms into the sleeves, but since it has a swivel at the elbow, you aren't losing any articulation. You could stop here with the hands and just use the ones that came with series 2/series 3 exclusive Rick. These hands are good for holding 1 pistol, or a shotgun/assault rifle. Or ya could go the extra mile like I did and have 3 pairs of interchangeable hands. But if ya choose this route, it gets SUPER tricky. If ya want Rick to have the dual pistol holding hands from series 6/series 7 Woodbury Assault figure, you have to (VERY carefully) try to pop them off the small wrist peg. Its a very weak plastic peg and likely to break. You may end up drilling a very small hole down his hand if the peg breaks off inside. I would use a very small dremmel bit at a very slow speed so ya don't drill straight out his palm. And another option I choose to do is to take the hat of off the series 2/series 7 exclusive Sheriff Rick and carefully dremmel out the inside of it after ya pop his face out of it. Then ya can have a removable hat if ya use the series 1/series 3 exclusive Rick head. Or ya could just have interchangeable heads from a series 2/series 7 exclusive hatted Sheriff Rick, and a hatless Rick from the series 1/series 3 exclusive head mold. Thanks for viewing this! I really enjoy making these figures! Also, his bag of rifles is from the comic series 1 Sheriff Rick. Figures Used: Sheriff Rick (series 1/series 7 exclusive) - head, upper torso, and hat/or interchangeable head Rick Grimes (series 2/series 3 exclusive) - lower arms/interchangeable hands, and hat/or interchangeable head Rick Grimes (series 6/series 7 Woodbury Assault) - legs, interchangeable hands Comic Sheriff Rick (series 1) - bag of guns ![]() |
