So we all assume Mace Windu died in Episode 3 when Anakin cut off his arm and Palpatine hurled him out the window, but what if he survived? This is my version of that. As Mace is falling to his certain death he is able to get a hold of himself enough to land on a passing by freight vehicle. He rides the vehicle to its destination using Jedi calming techniques to calm himself and relieve the pain from his severed right arm along the way. Once there he jumps off and makes his way to a safe house that he setup for just such emergencies. In the safe house is a medical droid that tends to his wounds. The Droid informs him that his left eye sustained severe damage from the electricity that surged through his body. Mace also sends his protocol droid RO-78 to get a friend of his that is a cybernetics specialist to hook him up with a robotic right arm.

Mace lies low for a couple days to regain his strength. Knowing that the Jedi Order has been destroyed Mace dons black to symbolize his mourning for his fallen brethren. He adds the purple tabard since he no longer has his distinctive purple lightsaber. He then wipes the memories of his 2 droids and sends them both to a local hospital to be of service there. Mace contacts some smugglers that he's worked with before and books passage off of Coruscant. He packs an extra lightsaber just in case and disappears to the Outer Rim.
