Custom #:87899
Name:Iron Fist - Immortal Weapon

Base Figure:VAH Portgas
Height:7.28 inches
Articulation:30 points
Japanese import style Iron Fist at your service.

As a fan of David Aja and Matt Fraction, I couldn't pass on making this guy. The costume you see here appears only for a couple pages in their Immortal Iron Fist series, but it's a really striking look, with the bare chest and baggy pants. Danny sported it in a tournament of the 7 Heavenly Kingdoms. It also didn't hurt my motivation, that this costume is available in the Marvel Heroes video game.
The main body here is Variable Action Heroes Portgas. It's crazy how good the articulation is on this guy. The figure can strike almost any pose you like.
As for the costume, everything besides the tabi socks is made from cloth materials. Everything including the pants was made from scratch. Sash and mask tails have bendable wires. They pose just as nice as the base figure.

Everything was painted and heavily shaded using hand brushes, my new airbrush and pastels.

Recipe:
body - VAH Portgas
head - MS Avenging Hawkeye
neck - NECA Dutch
biceps - MS movie Hawkeye
hands - ML white Iron Fist
feet - ML Kazaar cast resculpted

Hey Shin, just saw this in the WIP thread back at Fwoosh, and have to say this is the best usage of soft goods I've ever seen. I don't like Iron Fist and I still love this figure.

Wow, your favorite cloth costume on my first try? That's something to think about! In that case, I'll have to step up my game with my soon to come Batman and Taskmaster.

Cheap and thin t-shirt for the pants, cloth masking tape for mask/hand wraps and a pretty cool braided ribbon for the sash.

What don't you like about the pants?

Don't get me wrong, it's kick Azz! I just think the top of the waist on the pants has a sort of "thick" look to it that throws off the awesomeness of the rest of the figure....it puts some "bulk" on an otherwise super sleek figure

It's really only somewhat noticeable on closeups. Doesn't seem like so in person.
