I wasn't kidding when I said I have loads of Hobbit Customs in the works, here's one of them. Lord Dain rides in on his war boar terrifying the army of men. The War Boar has a helmet with two spiked ears at the front, two pieces of armour with a sharp blade on either side of its flank and an armoured seat for the rider. Why do I feel like Mason Verger would love this. Anyway moving swiftly on. I will add more photos of the making of this later as it was quite difficult. The base body was a Boromir figure, spiderman legs and arms and these were just the bare bones skeleton. Everything you see is hand sculpted from either miliput or plastic, the exception being the reigns, some straps and the leather bits that go under the armour but some of that was sculpted also. The tail was an Aragorn pouch bow. Quite a challenge but 1 I couldn't find any pig or Boar toys big enough and 2 I don't like the idea of just using a statue when the actual thing that Toybiz would have made if they were in business still and had the Hobbit licence to make figures would have been articulated and detailed. You can also see the Elk I have been putting off posting for ages because I was half finished with it about a year ago then didn't post it as I put it adduce for a long while. I'm still working on that Elk so it will be posted later. Anyways here's the Boar. Dain of course I made years ago so you've already seen him and if you haven't feel free to check him out on my profile. Dain I feel is possible the first custom I was proud of that fell into a complete sculpting and articulating nightmare if a job to get him to work properly. Recently I looked into adding some chain mail but both cloth and plastic didn't really work and was too cumbersome under the red kilt I provided already. I also used varnish on the tusks, teeth, snout and eyes as this adds life-like features to highlight realism. Hope you all like!
