Renmauzo here, and it's time to get back to MvC2 with...Jin Saotome! This was easily the most difficult custom I've attempted (it's still only custom no. 8 for me) but I still wanted something to set it apart, so I built the robot hand that carries him on screen in the MvC2 game. I need to start off by giving credit where it's due; I used the idea of using ML Cannonball as a base for this one from Jin Saotome and Kyle Robinson, but that's where the similarities end. A lot of epoxy went into this: the pant legs, the boot guards, the knee and elbow pads, a lot of the cuffs, the collar, the sleeves, and the hair. I chopped up a loli-pop stick for the nubs on the pads and crotch, and I used straps taken from various characters for the ones on this figure. The knife comes from a Kubrick MGS Raiden mini-figure, and all of the pouches were poached from an ML Cable (the gun pouch and gun came off of an ML Domino), while the buckles were made from low-guage wire. The discs on the upper arms and back were push-pins from an IKEA bookshelf, and I cannibalized 2 Sota Sakura headbands to make the one for Jin. As for the shoulder spikes, I didn't want to sacrifice articulation, so used the elevation of the bulkier sleeves to my advantage, stripped the knee pads off of the same ML Cable figure I took the pouches from, and fixed them to the sleeves. I then took crafting beads, chopped them, and sculpted the points onto each one, affixing them to the pads when I was done. The head was taken from a Sota Fei Long figure, with re-done hair, eyebrows, and headband added (I ran low-guage wire through the headband for poseability and painted the V on the front). The chest was sculpted, the japanese characters on the back were painted, beads were used for the knuckles, and finally, wire ribbon was used to make the scarf. Whew! Quite a lot of work, and although this custom was actually done a month ago, I didn't post it because I wanted to do the robot hand display base. This is normally sacrilige up here in Canada, but I sacrificed a hockey glove to make it. It involved a lot of chopping and sectioning, heavy-guage wire, epoxy, and a ton of fodder; I even used bridge pegs as posing anchors! I base coated it in black, then silver, then detailed it with metallic red and gun metal, and finally, I scratched it up somthing fierce to show battle damage. I hope that you all like this custom, and I'll keep working harder to bring you better and better stuff in the future. I'd love to hear what you folks think, so, bye for now and thanks everyone!

Please wait...
That's very neat. I like how you made the robot hand. The paint job is sweet. Your sculpting is real awesome as well.
You're on the right road. You follow the foot step of each artists for inspiration, and add your own touch to it. Your work is just going to get better and better. I can't wait to see more of your creation.
Take Care
Bye :-)
