My second custom, after I quite liked how my Shadow turned out and really enjoyed the process of making it I've decided to do a couple more of my favourite pulp characters, since they are very under represented on the market. So here comes The Ghost who walks! The base figure was a Gotham Select Zsasz (I will probably stick with these figures for any fully clothed characters), sanded down all the wrinkles and any details that would poke through the fabric and sculpted the ring, belt buckle and mask. My first attempt was with a Marvel legends figure, all details sculpted but that turned out to be a disaster (chipping paint and sculpt all over) and I've also realised I enjoy sewing much, much more so I've got some elastic fabric and sewn the whole suit instead (also going with the Gotham figure I kept it in scale with the Shadow). Since I wasn't sure how the costume would fit I did it in 3 pieces + the shorts. While the hood supposed to be one piece with the shirt, based on all the strips, comics and the movie costume, I don't mind how it looks on mine and it was much safer for me to do it in parts (also it probably would be a cluster of wrinkles anyway, even as a one piece). The short is a blue fabric with the stripes drawn on with a fabric marker. The belt, holsters and the boots are faux leather and the guns came with the figure. I think I've made some progress since my Shadow custom, although I still have a lot to learn but overall I like how this figure turned out. ![]() |
