This is a custom I was asked to make of a character called Jewelstar from the classic She-Ra cartoon series.
There was an official figure of Jewelstar planned to be released back in the 80’s as part of the Princess of Power toy line but unfortunately she never got past the prototype stage.
You can see images of the actual prototype figure online, so this is the figure my custom is based on.

I used a vintage Glimmer figure for her head & body. Her arms & legs were taken from this invisible woman figure…

I sculpted her crown using a product called ‘Fixit Sculpt & added all the crystal details to the Glimmer body using the same product. I then made a silicone mould of her crown & body & cast them in clear resin. This took a few attempts as I have not had a lot of experience in casting parts in resin. Once the resin parts were ready I painted them with glass paint. To finish the body parts & crown I mixed some fine glitter in with some enamel gloss varnish & added that as a final coat.

I then assembled all the body parts & re-rooted some pink doll hair to the back of her head which was then threaded out the back of her crown.

To make her cape I used fabric from an outfit belonging to a Princess Jasmine doll.

Finally I gave her a wand belonging to the official MOTUC Jewelstar figure.

Her articulation points are her head, arms, elbows, legs & knees.
