This is my third custom and I think it turned out pretty nice.

I am currently putting together a "first appearance" shelf. So far I have Hulk, Spider-Man, Daredevil, First Class X-Men, and I just picked up the new Namor. As soon as I got him I NEEDED to have a first appearance Human Torch. I did get a Fantastic 4 Johnny Storm, but he just wasn't going to work so I decided to make one.

I took a Daredevil base body and added apoxie sculpt to most of it in order to get those characteristic lines that the O.G. Human Torch had. I actually used my own fingerprints to add a little more detail in the ridges. I also sculpted flames on the legs, arms, and hips. I then took an Eel head sculpted over the face and added flames to the top. I was again going for that faceless look of the original. I might go back and completely remove the eyes and brow.

After the sculpting was done I put down a coat of matte red, followed by a custom red/orange blend, followed by some yellow/orange highlights to make the flames. The Johhny Storm flame accessories fit him perfectly and I added two sets of hands, fists and flat flying hands.
