This is the next custom I have just finished working on which is part of a series of figures based on characters from the classic 80's "Jem & the Holograms" cartoon series.
So this time I was asked to make Kimber in the style of the classic She-Ra Princess of Power figures which were also released in the 80's.

Her overall look is based on the vintage 12" Kimber doll but with some adjustments to help her fit in better with the vintage POP line.

To make her I used a vintage Glimmer (Princess of Power) figure as a base.

I removed her old hair & re-rooded her some new deep pink/red nylon doll hair then styled it using the boiling water method
Her costume was painted using enamel paints & I used glitter for the white section of her bodice. The jewel on her chest was replaced with a blue one to match the blue sections of her outfit.
I made a pattern from the shoulder section of the Glimmer figures outfit & made a new one for Kimber using fabric from an old Barbie dress.
I also gave her a skirt to help her tie in better wit the style of the vintage POP figures.
Finally I made her a little keyboard based on the one that came with the vintage 12" doll.
