The game developers Technos of japan began the beat'em genre in gaming with their arcade hits Renagade and the classic Double Dragon. Later on these games were ported to the Nes home console. The next beat'em Nes game Technos made ended becoming a cult classic. The game was called River City Ransom. Technos wanted to do something differently from their previous titles by giving the beat'em characters a cartoony squat look from their kunio kun series. River City Ransom was more open world and had written text storyline and rpg element that never been seen in the genre. River City Ransom was ahead of it time when it came out and loved by many. The kunio kun series started spin off sport games like world cup soccer and Dodge ball for the nes.

River City Ransom tell the story of high school students Alex and Ryan in trying save their girlfriend from a rival high school gang. Alex and Ryan fight their way thru many neighborhoods and develop new fighting skills and learn how to manage their money they get from fighting when shopping for items or the food they eat from restuarants. The charm factor is high in this game. In the pass year games like River City Ransom Underground and River City Ransom melee was released to modern consoles and limited run games to great sucess.

Head: Alex....Resaurus Street fighter Ryu with hair sculpt

Ryan....Resaurus Street Fighter Charlie Nash with hair sculpt


Base: ML Logan with sculpted belt buckle


Arms: ML Blizzard


Next I painted these guys up in their 8 bit nes colors and they are ready for brawling!!
Hope you guys like because the River City Ransom series are fun games and I wanted to pay homage to the pioneer of beat'em gaming...the company of Technos of Japan.
