The scratch-built Tie Fighter dimensions are 42 x 33 x 35 cm (cca 16,8´x 13,2´x 14´). It took me almost half a year to finish this model, but I didn´t have time to work on it every day. As always I used cardboard, plastic, modeling clay and foam. Wings: I used a big cardboard from an old TV box. The stripes of the solar energy collectors are also made of cardboard - without the upper layer, so you can see the "waves". I used the plastic for the edges. The structure relief is made of different things you can find at home. Sphere / main hull: I used a polystyrene foam sphere (12 cm) and transparent yoghurt cap. The structure relief is made of plastic, thick paper and modeling clay. Under the cockpit, there is a printed photo of the Tie Pilot. For the two laser cannons I used the screw caps of the superglue (I used the same ones for the Technodrome cannons last year). The main hull is connected with the wings through a roll from the kitchen wipes. You can also see some pictures I took during the construction. ![]() |
