Hi, guys !

Here‘s a totally unplanned custom.
That base-figure crossed my way, and inspired me, spontaneously, to make a half-troll, from „the hobbit- battle of the five armies“, out of it.
Later I‘ve found out, it‘s called „Grawp“, from Harry Potter, which I don’t know much about.

First I remodeled the head : cut out both eyes and repositioned ’em a bit farther away from each other, with a little tilt, to turn the infantile, into a more evil look.
Cut off material at the cheeks; the hair and ears. Removed the lower jaw and reposition it, for the battle-cry-position. Then sculpted face; oral-cavity; new ears, the whole head.

Cut out the neck from the body; cut it into segments and repositioned it in a more forward pointing angle.

Cut off the hands, but kept the joints/pegs. Added new hands, from an unknown fodder-figur and connected them to the Gwarp-pegs, by using nails; glue and sculpy.

I‘ve sculpted a hunchback, reshaped the forearms and shoulders a little bit, with the dremel, before I’ve started to add all those sculpy-dots, to create the uneven, troll-ish skin-surface. I also elongated the toenails of this blowzy lout.

To keep the weight of the club low, I‘ve sculpted over an hollow plastic-pipet, on which I’ve wrapped halfs of foam-earplugs around. Carved the spikes from a sushi-bamboo-stick, which are mounted to the club, by needles, (covered with glue) for maximum stability.

Paintjob :

I went over the greyish-white of the Citadel „Corax white“ spray primer, with an extremely watered down mix of „Ulthuan grey“; „Cadian fleshtone“ and „Flyed one flesh“, just to add that slightly nuance of regular human skin-tone, to the pale troll-complexion.
With an strongly watered down mix of „Dawnstone“ and „Castellan green“ I‘ve „drybrushed“ the dark areas.

The loincloth is made of an old shammy, painted with brown and black shoe-polish.

Further colors used :

Mouth/teeth :
Nuln oil
Mephisto red
Burgmans glow
Eldar flesh
Underhive ash
Dryad bark
Clear gloss nail-varnish for eyes and mouth.

Nails : Underhive Ash
Lhamian Medium
Steel legion drab

Club:
Imperial primer
Baneblade brown
Sylvaneth bark
Nuln oil
Eldar flesh
Blood for the bloodking

Hope you like it !

CHEERS, guys !

Since there’s a filter/tint on the movie-scenes and the skin tone varies from darker, to more pale, from scene to scene, I decided to stay closer, to the skin-tone of the other troll- and orc-figures of BOTFA, I’ve already have, to have a more corporate design.

THANKS, Deaditor ! I really appreciate it ! Initially, I wanted to finish my interpretation, of Azog‘s white warg first, but that project, which was planned to be just a super-quick „pimp and paint“ became more and more elaborated. Recently I cut the head into eight pieces ...

What have I done ?

Regards !

Haha that’s the issue with customising you start one thing then end up staring more and more and it gets overwhelming! All the stuff I’ve posted lately are side projects to a big one that led to another one and buying loads of stuff and doing massive sculpting jobs and complicated things and I have no idea when I’m get my stuff done Hahaha.
As for the Warg yeah that thing seems simple to make but it just keeps requiring more changes so 8 pieces makes sense haha! Looking forward to see it, defiantly going to have to oneday make a half troll like this!

Thanks a lot, Edgy ! It’s finished since two weeks, but was buried underneath tons of awesome custom-shields, so I couldn’t find it anymore. Today, I had time to search for him.
Regards !
