I was about to tackle this custom in the coming weeks, but I have a question for you. I never have luck with Krazy Glue or Loctite. Always a mess dripping everywhere. Would self-drying Sculpey work as well to fill in and hold in the hair? I'm wondering if that would also hold better. Any thoughts?

I've never attempted it but I'd be worried that the wire would just slip out of the sculpey after it's dried, or with too much posing of the hair. Loctite, especially the one pictured, has a thing nozzle for precision, but I do appreciate it takes practice to get the correct amount out.

Ah, I never thought of that. Thanks! I ordered the regular Loctite and didn't realize it wasn't the gel so I ordered some of that as well. Had a hard time finding the same wire, but I got some ColourCraft red wire that's 0.41mm. Hope that's not too thin.

Also, how did you cut off all that hair from the classic masked Medusa? Was that all Dremel work?

The hair is one solid piece that comes off if you pry/peel it. I heat the plastic in boiling water then it becomes more malleable. The 0.42mm should be fine. I'd recommend you do a trial run on another fodder head if you have any available too, it does make a difference!

The thin wire seems to be getting lots of inks in it. How did you get yours to look so smooth and natural? I ordered some 0.51 mm wire to compare the two. The thicker wire I think also has a more dull finish, as opposed to the shinier one I originally got.

The wire I ended up getting off Amazon looks metallic and shiny. The one you used looks like it's coated with rubber. Is that insulated wire?

Also, how many strands do you use per bundle? It's hard to tell.

The wire I used is also metallic red, not rubber coated. The bundles were done approx 10-15 strands, but it wasn't set in stone, it was seeing how much I needed throughout the process and adding/subtracting depending on the area I needed to fill.

I gotta customize a Medusa now! Question - can she stand up easily with the weight of the hair? I was thinking of doing a bit less hair than you have here, maybe not as long, but not sure how that would look.

The hair is heavy, but you could use the hair as a sort of stand of it's own, if it's long enough at the back.

This is a brilliant, funny, and easy to follow tutorial, thank you! Also, the BW head you chose is a ringer for Serinda Swan, and that just makes my day. Well done!!!
