Would it be smart to take the shoulder or hip disc out, and apply superglue all around it while the disc is out?

That's fine, but if you're taking the disc out then you might as well just grind that down and you won't even need superglue since nothing will be rubbing afterward.

Great tutorial! One detail though: Krazy Glue, at the least the liquid version, will melt and dissolve Testors Acryl, so watch out when using it. The advantage of this is that you can glue a piece on after you paint, and it will attach straight to the figure, instead of just the top layer of paint.

Thanks for the info, might be useful since I have a little bit of testors left to use up.

I tried the super glue protection twice on the same figure. As soon as I moved the joints, all the paint just peeled off. Any advice?

Hi, Finis

That can mean you have to sand more material off the joint. There simply might be too much friction and rubbing so the glue gets torn off anyway (same thing happened to this custom, as you can see on the hip in the last picture). It can be frustrating, unfortunately it's one of the annoying things we have to deal with when making customs. Stay positive and you'll come up with a solution to any problem
