Very cool! I'm curious- do you use just straight-up paint? I read on Jin Saotome's site that with soft, flexible parts like this, you should add a couple drops of liquid latex, and I've been wondering if that really is necessary, and if so, how much is a few. Does paint by itself work?

You don't need any latex for most customs, I've never used it on my capes and coats. Latex and latex based paints are used to paint on things like latex prostetics and masks that really have to move constantly. But for a PVS trenchcoat you'll be fine with standard acrylics. I mean, you can of course add a drop or two of latex but it really isnt necessary.

None, really. I pretty much always start with the base color I need to have, in this case black. A standard black paint, not some special type. But if you're looking for primers, Citadel has a good line of those, I believe it's called Foundation.
