What is that clear sticky putty stuff called? in Action Figure Chatter by Henchmen4Hire
Wednesday, December 25, 2019
   [Edit]
You know how when you get a credit card it has a line of clear sticky goo holding it onto the paper? What is that stuff? I'd like to get some to use it to keep accessories on action figures.

----------

UPDATE

Glue Dots work well to keep things attached to a figure's body. There are many variant sizes, shapes and packages, but to simplify for our purposes there are Removable and Permanent versions:

•The Removable can be reused and doesn't damage fully cured paint or leave residue. It can hold shoulder pads in place, you can stick guns or swords to a figure's back, put pouches on their belt, etc., and it stays flexible enough that the part can move. If you're careful you can remove the attached item while leaving the sticky bit intact, so...[See More]

Well I wish you luck.

In the past I've attached small straps to holes that I drilled in the space between the neck and shoulder, then glued the shoulder plates to the straps. If your idea doesn't work you can always try that.

If it acts the same as that sticky stuff, I'm not sure how useful it will be for keeping accessories attached.

If I might ask, why don't you glue them on or use magnets?

Because traditional glue is permanent and inflexible, and magnets are ugly/don't fit everywhere/don't have enough power.

I want to just stick a little piece of goo on there to keep things like shoulder plates in place. That would make it flexible enough to let the part move if it has to while still remaining stuck on.

Looks like a product called "Glue Dots" might work, or something called "nanotape", both are cheap so I'll give them a try. ...
Classic or Cartoon Ghostbusters? in Action Figure Chatter by MercMouth Customs

   [Edit]
I recently picked up the new ecto series Ghostbusters with the intent of repainting and selling them. Before that though I wanted to get some feedback from you fine Realmers on which suits you would prefer if you were buying them. Would you guys prefer movie colors, or the multi-colored suits from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon?...[See More]

If you go with the cartoon colors, on Shapeways they have a cartoon pack, trap and pke meter.

I've always been more of a fan of serialized Works rather than self-contained stories like movies, so I'd go with cartoon colors.

In that case you'll want to either look for a customizer who does both headsculpts and bodywork, or a separate customizer for each job.

For example, I can do regular customs, but I don't sculpt human faces, so unfortunately I would not be the one to help you.

Try using the custom search to find people who do what you're looking for, then contact them and see if they do commissions.

I think he cobbled it together from an assortment of parts. You could email him and ask, Loose and his staff are extremely pleasant individuals. You could also post a pic as he made this back in 2015 and people may have forgotten what it looks like.

Hasbro Pink Ranger Problems (There's alot of them) in Action Figure Chatter by MercMouth Customs
Friday, November 15, 2019
   [Edit]
I'm just posting this here to warn anyone planning to buy the Lightning collection MMPR Pink Ranger, so you know what you're getting into before you buy.

The Pink Ranger has a host of problems:

1. Her sculpt looks unfinished. Her arms legs are too thin for the body, and the boots flare out too much at the top, making her look even smaller and scrawnier.

2. She's scaled too small even with the guy rangers. If you compare them she's the same size as the children Marvel Legends like Ms. Marvel. I think they should have made the girls the same height as the guys, even if it wouldn't be 100% show accurate.

3. The butterfly shoulders don't offer much range of motion beyond being able to pull the arms back really far, which won't look natural ...[See More]

The whole lightning collection line is a mess to avoid. The anatomy is abismal. And they have no excuse after years of making legends. The torsos are way too long. Maybe a neck length too tall. The torso looks stretched or elongated. Chiefly because elected to make the sculpt fit the articulation rather than fit the articulation into the sculpt. With very deep butterfly, upper torso ball and lower torso crunch, on an unmuscular buck. Doesn't fit. It's terrible. And the female body, which we have only seen in the pink ranger so far, the legs are too long. The mmpr figures the belt buckle morpher is terrible, to small and thin, the helmets paint q. C is terrible and often missing, same with weapon accessories missing paint, the newer series figures, has sculpted suit detail which is too deep ...
