Hybrid
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Venom - Planet of the Symbiotes
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Well, I like the red Hybrid, but I like the blue Hybrid a little bit better. I'll make this plain and simple, the reason I like the figure is because despite it's articulation, it's got a great feel, texture, paint apps, and an action feature so great it makes kids under 10 wet their pants like rain wets the rest of your clothes (yeah, horrible analogy, deal with it), and despite my nostalgia for the original red colors, the blue and grey looks so cool, I have to admit that it looks better. While I know it's only a repaint, it's like looking at a whole new figure. Amazing how a change in paint job can change the figure completely (but no one should overdo it like Hasbro). The figure is great, the articulation could be a bit more, but he can still pull off some great poses, because he's a...[See More]
Lasher
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Venom - Planet of the Symbiotes
Rated 4.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Hm. Where to begin, where to begin? I'll start off by comparing it to the green one, has a better feel, but not as cool looking, and unlike blue Hybrid, a repaint doesn't pose the same wonders. Now on to the figure. In case you never recognized, the Spider-man Classics series 4 Venom reused most of this body. He has more articulation than any other figure in the line, but much less decent poses to pull off. Like all the other figures in the line, Lasher has a great action feature that doesn't affect his articulation (once again, something Hasbro can learn from). I think my favorite part of this figure are the bendy tendrils on his back, Tee hee, they wiggle. And if you don't like how they're positioned, dunk 'em in boiling water for a few seconds and position them in whatever which way we...[See More]
Spider-Man (Zombie)
Marvel Select (Diamond Select) - Basic Series
Rated 3.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Marvel Zombies, cool book, cool characters, pretty "meh" figures. I picked up Zombie Spider-man from my local comic book shop the other day, and let me say, he is kind of disappointing. For once Marvel Select has managed to be outdone by Hasbro (ugh). The articulation isn't as good, and while the sculpt it superb, spectacular even, they have him sculpted in a way so that all poses look pretty awkward. I really want to like this figure, I really do, but it's just not happening. It's not that I hate it, in fact, I wish I could love it, but I can't. Every thing about this figure, every single thing, is just awkward and clumsy, even the base doesn't have the same apocalyptic feeling that the other figures do, it does a great job translating the comic into plastic, but beyond that it doesn't...[See More]
Riot
Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Venom - Planet of the Symbiotes
Rated 4.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
I am a symbiote fan, I am a fan of symbiotics, my thing, is XTREME 90s Spider-man villains. Riot is 2 of those. When I ordered a Riot I expected to get the bulky grey symbiote from the Seperation Anxiety story line, instead I got a bug, a freaking bug! Trying not to get mad, I saw it as a different character. It's cool. Riot is one of the old Venom figures from the Planet of the Symbiotes line. He's an original character that even has his own Wikipedia article (but what doesn't?) I think my favorite part of the figure is it's legs, which are jointed at the hips, knees, and ankles. It crouches at 6 inches but when fully stood up he can go alongside your 10 inch Marvel Universe figures. His paint and sculpt are pretty cool, and he has an action feature that ISN'T total crud. there are two...[See More]
Batman
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) - Series 3
Rated 4.99 stars by TheGreyGoose
Da na na na na na na na da na na na na na na na BATMAN!!!! I've always wanted to do that on the internet. Anyway, this Batman figure is amazing. It is definitely the definitive Batman, which if your not too smart means the perfect one, the one you should have, the best one that captures the Dark Knight in the perfect costume, face, etc. My favorite part of the figure is, um, oh what the heck, I love the entire thing! Now, you're probably wondering why this thing got a 4.99 instead of a 5? Well, it's sculpt perfectly captures the Bat, the belt is great for keeping around Bat figure improvement, the cape is perfectly sculpted and is light enough so he can stand without leaning forward, and it's paint apps look great, BUT it has THE LIPS OF MICHAEL JACKSON AHHHHHH....THE WHITE ONE...[See More]
Scarecrow (Crime Scene Evidence)
Dark Knight - Movie Masters (Mattel) - Series 2
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Well, I'll start by saying that Scarecrow is one of the characters who I like, but I don't know much about. I originally picked up movie Masters Scarecrow and he went in a drawer for a year, when I decided to start getting serious about my collecting, I eventually found him, and liking the movie version of Scarecrow, put him up. It wasn't until about a month later that I noticed he had DCUC type articulation. I was elated. This figure is great. Amazing sculpt on the cloak and the clothes under it, the mask is perfectly sculpted to capture the fact that it's like a burlap sack on his face, and while here's not many ways you can think to pose him, the articulation is made so that you can do pretty much whatever you think of. He's definitely one of my favorite DC figures, even though he's...[See More]

Moon Knight
Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Series 15 - Modok Series
Rated 4.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Hmm, this review is gonna be a bit difficult. Let me start off by saying that I like Moon Knight, but this one I find to be pretty "meh". Just let me explain myself, before I got this figure I got Marvel universe Moon Knight, who's nothing short of awesome. So when you compare an amazing figure to a figure that isn't of such great quality, it seems even worse. I suppose that on the plus side, at least you can use ol' Moony as a base for pretty much everything. Still, the all black paint job looks cool, but you grow out of it, and the hood is too difficult to get on and off. His hands are too bulky because the hand doesn't end at the fingers. I mean, there's really nothing I hate more than disliking a good figure but when you compare it to the MU Moon Knight, it's just hard to like it as...[See More]
Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly)
Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Ares Series
Rated 3.50 stars by TheGreyGoose
Score: 3.5 A wise man once said "The kids hate clones." actually, Deadpool said that, far from wise, unless you count wise CRACKING. Anyway, I decided to get HML Scarelt Spider for my brother over the summer, and he's kind of....weird. Let me just get right down to it. He's the perfect base figure, he's got the slim body type of Spider-man without the embossed webbing (not counting the head). Basically, he has a pretty standard Spiider-man head, but all the details from the neck down are painted, which is perfect if you need him for a custom. The paint apps themselves are sloppy for the most part, but you can fidn a good figure with good paint, of course I'e come to expect this from Hasbro. Articulation is definitely existant, as is posability, and while there's nothing wrong with him,...[See More]
Snake Eyes (Paris Pursuit)
G.I. Joe - Rise of Cobra (Hasbro) - Collection 1 - Wave 2
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
So hey, I don't need to know squat about GI Joe to know that Snake Eyes is awesome. No matter what. Got that? And this figure is the greatest Snake Eyes ever. What can you give Snake Eyes to make him cooler you ask? A trench coat! This Snake Eyes is better than the regular one for many reasons, but the biggest is that it doesn't have a mouth imprint and moving visor. He has a crud load of articulation and the coat helps with the poses. He comes with all the accessories you need, a sword, a sheath, a gun, a bigger gun, a knife, and a freaking wolf! His paint apps are flawless, and without the trench coat he makes for the perfect fodder body. My only complaint with this figure is that his had are rubber, which while you might think this is good for giving him third party weapons, he holds...[See More]
Storm Shadow (Ninja Mercenary)
G.I. Joe - Rise of Cobra (Hasbro) - Collection 1 - Wave 1
Rated 4.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
So there's not much to Storm Shadow, and I don't really know how to open this review, since I honestly don't know much about the guy, and there's not really a story to how I got him, but whatever. HIs articulation is the same as the rest of the figures from the movie line, and he comes with way more accessories than he needs. He comes with his two swords, a weird gun thingy, a big weird gun thingy, a big weird shuriken thingy, and a tiny green dagger which you'll probably lose by the end of the day. He also has a skirt. the skrit limits his articulation in the legs quite a bit, but if you dunk him in boiling water, then pose him, if he stays psoed long enough the skirt will adjust, and it will be pretty flexible for the rest of Storm Shadow's life time. Seeing as how I don't know how much...[See More]
