Cortana
Halo 3 (McFarlane) - Series 1 - Campaign
Rated 2.50 stars by somebody1
More a statue than a figure she is made of clear blue plastic that gets no chance to shine thanks to the 3 LED lights not providing a lot of direct light into her body. It is a good likeness, far better than some I have seen using the ugly version of her from halo 2. A rather expensive figure compared to others in the line as well. Her body is cast in a fairly clear blue plastic with dark blue painted on her as highlights indicating the data streams that make up her "clothing" in the game but otherwise the paint is rather sparse compared to the Cortana in the game. The base is a rather bland disk with 3 LEDS behind Cortana in a roughly triangular pattern that, while blindingly bright, don't focus on her well and doesn't even feature a label saying "halo 3" or anything. There would have...[See More]
Isaac Clarke
Dead Space 2 (Neca) - Basic Series
Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1
The main character of the franchise and an average joe with some really bad luck. This version of him sports a much sleeker security suit compared to the engineering suits seen in the first game. It also features the DS2 version of the plasma cutter which easily dismembers the necromorphs. Like a lot of newer neca figures the articulation is vastly superior to the original figure as is the detail in the suit. much like the first suit it features glowing visor and rig on the spine of the figure. The paint of the figure is pretty sparse so it wouldn't shock me if they put out a bloodied up version at some point as this one has a few splatters and is molded in color. The downside is I would like to see them include more weapons, even if it is the plasma cutter and another one or some other...[See More]
Necromorph Slasher
Dead Space 2 (Neca) - Basic Series
Rated 3.50 stars by somebody1
One of the most common enemies in the Dead Space game series is the Slasher type Necromorph and its variants. This one represents the basic version with the long blades coming out of its wrists and the extra arms coming from its stomach. The figure seems slightly small as the ones in the game tend to be taller than Isaac with longer limbs. The figure features a version of a slasher that is missing its lower jaw. Detail is pretty good for a figure this scale but it could have been way better. Articulation is really good for a NECA figure and shows that they've decided to stop making statue-like figures. The figure also features an interesting and mildly amusing ability for you to remove the limbs from the figure to replicate dismembering it like in the game. The paint job seems kind of...[See More]

I agree about the POA Ive been loving the NECA video game lines recent articulation boost
Isaac Clarke (with Ripper)
Dead Space (Neca) - Basic Series
Rated 3.50 stars by somebody1
This is one of 3 versions of the figure available. The most expensive is a variant in the Unitology armor that was a SDCC edition. Aside from that one the only difference between the figures is one comes with the plasma cutter and the ripper weapon. The articulation is pretty poor given that it is an older NECA item before they started boosting their articulation standards. The blood splatters are a bit too obviously painted on, it would have been more interesting to really splatter him with red paint so no 2 were the same and it would be more realistic. The main issues with the figure are the lack of articulation, the fact that his head comes loose and it spins in its socket, the lights in the helmet and the health gauge on his back are not nearly as bright as they could be. There is...[See More]
Highbrow
Transformers - Hunt for the Decepticons (Hasbro) - Voyager
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
"You don't get as old as HIGHBROW without fighting a lot of desperate, can't-win battles. He's been through his share, and come out on top, every time. THE FALLEN may be ancient and nearly all-powerful, but HIGHBROW is pretty old himself, and hes learned a lot of tricks over the years. Paired up with AUTOBOT RATCHET, he's sure THE FALLEN will be surprised to learn just how tough two determined AUTOBOTS can be." Back of box. This has to be one of the more original Transformers in years. The robot form isn't much to write home about as it is mostly molded in color with only a little paint. The joints are pretty tight but there are transformation points that could loosen as time goes on. He's kinda awkward looking like they were trying to meld the movie and older styles. His head looks like...[See More]
Thunderwing
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 5.00 stars by somebody1
"Thunderwing is so single minded and powerful that even megatron hesitates to get in his way. he is loyal to the decepticon commander but once he is given an order nothing stops him until the mission is complete. All too often that mission is the annihilation of a world that has defied the will of Megatron. A task at which thunderwing excels." Back of package. This is by far the most G1 style figure in the Generations line. It is such a basic figure that it shouldn't even have instructions. The transformation, detail, and the fact that this character has never gotten much love from Hasbro are all pluses. The joints are tight and the face sculpt is very expressive showing pure evil. The paint is good and is actually very comic accurate. I give this one a 5 out of 5....[See More]
Thrust
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
One of the two conehead jets to appear in the generations line so far. He features crisp paint, tight joints, and a very G1 robot form. The transformation is very basic as with most jet forms in the transformers universe. The main body appears to be the same basic body used in all of the Decepticon jets in this line and the older classics line starting with Starscream. The missiles are the same blunt headed ones unlike those in the original toys that looked like the lasers used in the comics and animations and probably were a major safety hazard. When you open the package the fan jets aren't attached to his body but it is a very minor thing to put them on. It is a very cool looking jet and very big on bringing back the feel of the original line. This is a great figure for nostalgia as it...[See More]
Red Alert
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 3.00 stars by somebody1
"As security director for the autobots Red Alert tries to keep his eye on everyone and everything. All the time. He installs cameras and security sensors everywhere, and keeps detailed records of the known movements of enemies and allies alike. Nothing escapes his attention and -to him-everything is significant. his paranoia keeps him constantly on edge but its paid off more than once by stopping Decepticon plots before they did any damage." Back of package. Not really much to say about this one. The paint applications are nice and he's fairly easy to transform but he's actually just a repaint of classics sideswipe and sunstreaker. They didn't make a new head sculpt or anything. The only thing they added was the light bar on his roof. Even the weapon they give him is the same. The joints...[See More]
Optimus Prime (Cybertronian)
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
This is a very nice addiction to any transformers collection although a larger version with the tron like (pre tron) lighting seen in the game would have been cooler. The figure is very much the Optimus prime people have been waiting for since the 1980s. A cross between his earth mode, the TFA optimus cybertron mode, and some retro 1940s pulp fiction truck is how best to describe his vehicle mode. The transformation is pretty smooth and issue free while in robot mode he is poseable. The gun they give him is rather lackluster and he doesn't come with the energy axe seen in the game. The paint is clean and crisp in his traditional G1 colors (watch out for a repaint as ultra magnus). Overall lit is a very nice figure and ripe for customizing as it is a bit too clean to have seen a lot of...[See More]
Drift (Autobot)
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1
"Drift (Dorifuto) was not always an Autobot. In fact, he slaughtered quite a few when he was known as the Decepticon Deadlock. But Deadlock's eyes were opened to what the Transformers' war had become when he stumbled across a lost faction of neutral Transformers long since forgotten. He discarded his ruthless ways, abandoned his guns for swords, and changed his name and appearance. When Drift returned to the Transformer war to make right what he put wrong, he was a bot of few words and disciplined action." - From Transformers wiki Much like his retooled form that becomes Blurr he carries 3 weapons: a large sword and two smaller ones in his door scabbards. His paint is very crisp and the joints are tight enough that he can be posed fairly easily with his swords. His transformation is...[See More]
