Predator Attack Team
Transformers - Classics (Hasbro)To start off with it was nice to see the return of the MINICON 3-packs(what were they thinking releasing 2-packs during CYBERTRON?),even though these figures really have no place in the classics line.They were originally meant for the CYBERTRON line,but were bumped into classics.
Now for the overview.In this set you are getting 3 minicons of the animal persuasion.I will cover each of the three individually.
DREADWING is an avian creature vaguely resembling ENERGON DIVEBOMB in both bot and beast mode.His colors are an uninspired mix of red,brown,and silver.Transformation isn't too terribly complex,but be careful of the ball joints.
OVERBITE is marginally better than our previous contestant at least having a more distinctive predator for beast mode;R.E.wolf.He has a decidedly DECEPTICON color scheme that is a mixture of purple,black,and red.Yes,it is simplistic,but the apps were more detailing rather than detracting.Transformation once again is fairly easy giving way to a bot mode that is rather fearsome(a more complex deluxe mold would be more worthy).OVERBITE's bot mode has one flaw that can be somewhat disappointing.His arms aren't given much range of motion.
Finally,we have SNARL.His tiger mode is nice with tiny mechanical detailing in the body though this negated by a 2-tone color scheme.Transformation is simple once again giving way to a strange bot mode though it is reminiscent of BEAST MEGATRON.The tiger head becomes one arm and the rear becomes the other.The funny thing is whether HASBRO meant to incorporate a secondary weapon for the character.His left arm if turned upside down uses the tiger tail as a whip .
This a nice set,but don't pay too much over retail for these guys.
