Loctite ALL PLASTICS Super Glue. Too good to be true?

Posted in Custom Workstation

All plastics huh? I've heard that before. I've tried so many brands of glues and nothing works on that waxy, unpaintable plastic that Hasbro uses for GI Joe knees or the inner shoulder/hip discs of Marvel Legends...right? Well I decided to try this stuff out because I simply didn't believe it.

Step 1, use the marker-like applicator on both sides of the plastic. It lays on a clear liquid that instantly evaporates and leaves no fogging, nothing.

Step 2, wait one minute. I CANNOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS ENOUGH. Even tho it looks like it's evaporated and dry, it's not. Wait 60 seconds. If you don't, you end up with a gloppy mess where the glue touches the uncured plastic. I tried to speed it up and failed each time.

Step 3. Apply the glue, press the plastic together. Any plastic together. EVEN UNPAINTABLE EVIL PLASTIC. And unbelievably... it works!

Yep, this Loctite for All Plastics glues together any type of plastic. I've tested it on styrene, rubber, abs, unpaintable, polycarbonate, pvc, uh...every kind my figures are made out of. It glued them together as you can see in the photo, I have the knees sections of two GI Joes glued together. This means you can repair and even seal those sections! The Activator soaks into the plastic and changes it I guess, I don't know. I warns you not the breath the vapors as it contains hexene (or hexane, neither should be inhaled in large quantities) and you'll want to put the cap back on as soon as you've marked the plastic. Now I've started priming every part I'm gluing together with this stuff. It makes the bond so much stronger. Even lets you stick stuff tho/through paint in some cases! Found it at Ace Hardware and Home Depot.
